What cannot be cured
A few years ago I believed that every problem had a solution. Work harder. Study more. Plan better. Find another route. Surely there was always something you could do. Then life taught me a different lesson.
There are situations where effort alone is not enough. Moments where you have done everything you can. You have had the difficult conversations. You have made the sacrifices. You have exhausted every option you can think of. And the situation remains unchanged.
I came across a quote that stayed with me: what cannot be cured must be endured. The younger version of me would not have liked it. It sounds like giving up, and I did not give up on anything. Today I understand it differently.
Some things are endured until they become part of your story.
It is not that I stopped believing in solving problems. I solve problems for a living. It is that I learned resilience is not always about fixing things. Sometimes it is about carrying on while the answer has not arrived yet. Showing up when motivation is gone. Staying patient when progress is invisible. Continuing to move forward when the destination is unclear.
Looking back, the periods that shaped me most were not the easy ones. They were the seasons of uncertainty. The ones where I did not know what would happen next, and all I could do was keep going. And somehow, those seasons always passed.
Maybe that is the point. Not everything in life is meant to be conquered immediately. Some problems yield to effort, and you should give them everything. The rest ask a different question: not whether you can fix them, but who you are while you wait. Endurance is not the absence of a plan. It is the plan.
